Please, Don’t Just Pick C - A Grammar Question
July 8, 2007
I’ve had to take a little break from blogging. Between a busy market, vacation and a bout with laryngitis, my brain waves have been focused elsewhere. Also, it’s not easy coming up with ideas about real estate to help consumers.
So, maybe you consumers or grammar mavens can help me? I’ve struggled with the term for my business model for the last three years. Is it:
A. Exclusive Buyer’s Agent
B. Exclusive Buyers Agent
C. Exclusive Buyer Agent
I actually go by Real Estate Buyer’s Agent but I still have the same issue - is it Buyer/Buyer’s/Buyers???
Anyone? Anyone?

I describe the difference below… maybe this will help you choose!
A. Buyer’s Agent: implies you are the agent of a single buyer
B. Buyers Agent: I am not sure this is correct unless you put it as “Buyers’ Agent” (with the apostrophe) which would theh imply that you are the agent to many buyers
C. Buyer Agent: implies you are an agent who Buys
Also–I would keep in mind the ambiguity of adding “Exclusive” to the beginning of these terms, as it could be taken in three ways:
“you are only an agent for exclusive Buyers,”
“you are exclusive when selecting the buyers you represent” or
“you represent buyers exclusively” (which is what I assume you are trying to convey).
I hope this helps!
