Grey Goose on the Loose
September 25, 2006
I wanted to be a real estate agent for a few years before I actually became one. The time was right once I had some experience as a home owner and real estate investor. It became even more right when my career in marketing was not what I had hoped for. So, I signed up for a class to become a part-time agent, just to get my feet wet.
At the time I was taking classes, everyone wanted to be a real estate agent. You could make millions and do almost no work, right!? At least that was the perception of my classmates - many of whom had already signed up with an agency and were just waiting to pass their test so they could get their picture printed on a shiny new business card.
To help us along was our instructor, a well-know agent and educator. I learned a great deal in his class but I’ll honestly remember him most by his constant references to Grey Goose. I hadn’t been a fan of it myself but he seemed to like it so much, I found myself compelled to buy some. Three years later, that bottle remains in my freezer, half drunk.
When I feel like having vodka, I’ll take it out and think of my instructor and wonder where my classmates are today. I’m a full-time buyer’s agent now and am finding my way in this business. I hope they are, too. As for my instructor, cheers!
